According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Texas was 8.1% (sa) in April, 2011. Among all Texas counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Starr (16.3%), Sabine (16.2%), and Dickens (16%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): McMullen (2.9%), Hemphill (3.6%), and Hartley (4%).
