According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Texas was 7.8% (sa) in October, 2011. Among all Texas counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Willacy (17.7%), Sabine (14.8%), and Starr (14.7%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): McMullen (3.3%), Hemphill (3.4%), and Hartley (3.6%).
