According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Vermont was 5.5% (sa) in January, 2009. Among all Vermont counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Orleans (9.4%), Essex (8.4%), and Grand Isle (8.3%).
