According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Vermont was 5% (sa) in December, 2011. Among all Vermont counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Essex (8.1%), Orleans (7.7%), and Lamoille (6.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Chittenden (3.5%), Windsor (4.5%), and Addison (4.5%).
