According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Washington was 7% (sa) in January, 2002. Among all Washington counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Okanogan (15.2%), Klickitat (15%), and Adams (14.8%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): King (5.4%), Whitman (5.7%), and Snohomish (6.2%).
