According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Washington was 7.1% (sa) in June, 2002. Among all Washington counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Klickitat (11%), Cowlitz (10.2%), and Wahkiakum (9.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): San Juan (4.9%), Garfield (5.1%), and Whitman (5.5%).
