According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Washington was 6.9% (sa) in December, 2003. Among all Washington counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Ferry (13.3%), Klickitat (13.1%), and Adams (12.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Whitman (4.3%), King (4.8%), and Snohomish (5.9%).
