According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Washington was 8.6% (sa) in May, 2011. Among all Washington counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Ferry (15.6%), Wahkiakum (12.6%), and Pend Oreille (12.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Whitman (5.7%), Garfield (6%), and San Juan (6.4%).
