According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 5.7% (sa) in March, 2002. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Oregon (7.8%), North Carolina (7.2%), and Washington (7.1%).
On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: South Dakota (3.4%), North Dakota (3.4%), and Vermont (3.6%).
