According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 5.2% (sa) in March, 2005. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: District of Columbia (7.7%), South Carolina (7.4%), and Michigan (7%).

On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: Hawaii (2.9%), Florida (3.2%), and Vermont (3.4%).
