According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 4.7% (sa) in April, 2006. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Michigan (6.8%), Alaska (6.7%), and South Carolina (6.5%).
On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: Hawaii (2.8%), South Dakota (2.9%), and Virginia (3%).
