According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 4.7% (sa) in January, 2006. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: South Carolina (7.1%), Alaska (6.9%), and Mississippi (6.9%).
On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: Florida (2.4%), Hawaii (2.7%), and North Dakota (3.1%).
