According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 5% (sa) in April, 2008. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Michigan (7.4%), Rhode Island (6.6%), and California (6.4%).
On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: Wyoming (2.6%), South Dakota (2.7%), and North Dakota (2.9%).
