According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 5% (sa) in January, 2008. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Michigan (7.2%), Alaska (6.2%), and Mississippi (6%).
On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: Wyoming (2.6%), South Dakota (2.6%), and Utah (2.8%).
