According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 5.6% (sa) in June, 2008. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Michigan (7.9%), Rhode Island (7.4%), and California (7%).
On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: Wyoming (2.8%), South Dakota (2.9%), and North Dakota (3%).
