According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 9.5% (sa) in June, 2009. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Michigan (14.3%), California (11.6%), and Rhode Island (11.3%).
On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: North Dakota (3.9%), South Dakota (4.7%), and Nebraska (4.7%).
