According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 9.8% (sa) in January, 2010. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Nevada (13.5%), Michigan (13.2%), and California (12.6%).

On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: North Dakota (3.9%), South Dakota (4.8%), and Nebraska (4.9%).
