US Unemployment Rate By State in September, 2023

According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 3.8% (sa) in September, 2023. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Nevada (5.2%), California (4.9%), and District of Columbia (4.8%).

On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: South Dakota (1.8%), Vermont (2%), and North Dakota (2%).
