United States Hate Crime Incidents By Bias Type in 2018
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2018, there were 7,179 hate crime incidents in the US. Anti-Black or African American bias was the highest motivation for hate crime incidents (1,998), which was 27.83% of the number of incidents. Anti-Jewish bias was the second highest motivation for hate crime incidents (881), which was 12.27% of the number of incidents. And Anti-White bias was the third highest motivation for hate crime incidents (796), which was 11.09% of the number of incidents.

NB: Hate Crimes are criminal offenses that were motivated, in whole or in part, by the offender's bias against the victim's race/ethnicity/ancestry, gender, gender identity, religion, disability, or sexual orientation, and were committed against persons, property, or society. A hate crime incident can be motivated by one or more biases.
