US Trend of Hate Crime Incidents and Offenses

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2024, the number of hate crime incidents in the US was 11,679 and the number of hate crime offenses was 14,251. Compared to 2023, the number of hate crime incidents decreased by 2.9%, and the number of hate crime offenses decreased by 3.8%.

NB: Hate Crimes are criminal offenses that were motivated, in whole or in part, by the offender's bias against the victim's race/ethnicity/ancestry, gender, gender identity, religion, disability, or sexual orientation, and were committed against persons, property, or society. A hate crime incident could lead to charges of multiple hate crime offenses against one or more people, property or society.
