Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the Massachusetts citizen population was 6.07M. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen population (4.88M) and constituted 80.38% of the total. The Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group had the second highest citizen population (502.62K) and constituted 8.28% of the total. The Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone ethnicity group had the third highest (349.50K), constituting 5.75% of the total citizen population.
