Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2014, the citizen voting-age population for West Virginia was 1,456,965 and represented 78.59% of the total West Virginia population.

Among all West Virginia counties, Kanawha had the highest citizen voting-age population (151.07K), followed by Monongalia (81.51K), and Berkeley (79.17K).

In terms of percentages, Pocahontas had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (82.43%), followed by Gilmer (82.31%), and Summers (82.30%).
