Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Louisiana was 1,271,600 and represented 28.04% of the total Louisiana citizen population.

Among all Louisiana counties, Orleans had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (226.83K), followed by East Baton Rouge (202.15K), and Caddo (122.32K).
