Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2017, the citizen population for Idaho was 1,596,695 and represented 96.34% of the total Idaho population.

Among all Idaho counties, Ada had the highest citizen population (421.88K), followed by Canyon (196.16K), and Kootenai (148.97K).
