Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2018, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Mississippi was 1,281,810 and represented 43.52% of the total Mississippi citizen population.

Among all Mississippi counties, Hinds had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (173.94K), followed by Harrison (48.86K), and DeSoto (45.95K).
