Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the total immigrant or foreign-born population in the US was 44.85M which was 13.60% of the total US population. Among all US states, California had the highest immigrant population (10.46M) and immigrants constituted 26.50% of its population, followed by Texas (pop: 4.90M, perc: 16.99%), and then New York (pop: 4.52M, perc: 22.49%).

On the other hand, the states with the least number of immigrant population were: Wyoming (pop: 19.66K, perc: 3.41%), Montana (pop: 23.56K, perc: 2.19%), and Vermont (pop: 28.01K, perc: 4.37%),
