Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of the New York population without a health insurance coverage was 5.33% (i.e. 1,059,370 people). Percentagewise, among all New York counties, Yates County had the highest percentage of its population with no health insurance coverage (17.30%), followed by Queens County (8.93%), and Seneca County (8.90%).
In numerical terms, Queens County had the highest number of people without a health insurance coverage (212,367), followed by Kings County (176,909), and Bronx County (113,150).
