Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of the Utah population without a health insurance coverage was 8.99% (i.e. 288,116 people). Percentagewise, among all Utah counties, San Juan County had the highest percentage of its population with no health insurance coverage (19.44%), followed by Wayne County (17.54%), and Piute County (16.44%).

In numerical terms, Salt Lake County had the highest number of people without a health insurance coverage (115,449), followed by Utah County (50,391), and Weber County (22,540).
