According to the US Census Bureau Vintage data estimates, in 2012, the birth rate for North Carolina was 12.32. Onslow County had the highest birth rate (22.29), followed by Hoke County (19.2), and Cumberland County (17.1) On the other hand, Pamlico County had the lowest birth rate (6.55), followed by Polk County (6.66), and Watauga County (6.98).
