According to the US Census Bureau Vintage data estimates, in 2022, the birth rate for South Dakota was 12.62. Jackson County had the highest birth rate (27.88), followed by Todd County (22.36), and Hamlin County (22.2) On the other hand, Fall River County had the lowest birth rate (6.04), followed by Lawrence County (7.57), and Day County (7.88).
