Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2022, the Black or African American Alone population in Arkansas was 476,278 and represented 15.64% of the total Arkansas population (3,045,637).

Among Arkansas counties, Pulaski County had the highest number of people who identified as Black or African American Alone (154,224), followed by Jefferson County (36,804), and Crittenden County (26,110). Newton County had the lowest (38).
