Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2017, the White Alone population in Montana was 938,553 and represented 89.06% of the total Montana population (1,053,862).

Among Montana counties, Yellowstone County had the highest number of people who identified as White Alone (144,524), followed by Missoula County (108,582), and Gallatin County (103,359). Petroleum County had the lowest (490).
