Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2013, the Black or African American Alone population in the United States was 41,690,498 and represented 13.19% of the total US population (316,059,947).

Among all US states, New York had the highest number of people who identified as Black or African American Alone (3,445,389), followed by Texas (3,284,462), and Florida (3,281,466). Montana had the lowest (5,446).
