According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 705,583 people who identified as Non-Hispanic - White Alone in South Dakota, which was 79.58% of the total South Dakota population.

Minnehaha County had the highest number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - White Alone (155,740), followed by Pennington County (82,743), and Lincoln County (58,509). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identified as Non-Hispanic - White Alone were: Buffalo County (286), Ziebach County (404), and Oglala Lakota County (438).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identify as Non-Hispanic - White Alone, Hanson County had the highest percentage (95.81%), followed by Hand County (95.14%), and Miner County (95.00%).
