According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 75,629 people in Iowa who identified their race as Asian Alone, which is 2.37% of the total population of Iowa. Polk County had the highest number of people who identify as Asian Alone (24,510), followed by Johnson County (8,599), and Story County (5,461). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Asian Alone were: Audubon County (5), Ringgold County (8), and Fremont County (11).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Buena Vista County had the highest percentage, with 9.16% of its population identifying their race as Asian Alone, followed by Johnson County (5.63%), and Story County (5.54%).
