According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 37,469 people in New Mexico who identified their race as Asian Alone, which is 1.77% of the total population of New Mexico. Bernalillo County had the highest number of people who identify as Asian Alone (20,253), followed by Doña Ana County (2,700), and Sandoval County (2,545). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Asian Alone were: Harding County (0), Union County (7), and Catron County (8).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Los Alamos County had the highest percentage, with 6.38% of its population identifying their race as Asian Alone, followed by Bernalillo County (2.99%), and Socorro County (1.87%).
