According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 339,150 people in Arizona who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 4.74% of the total population of Arizona. Maricopa County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (260,469), followed by Pima County (39,954), and Pinal County (21,968). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Greenlee County (87), La Paz County (114), and Apache County (185).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Maricopa County had the highest percentage, with 5.89% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Pinal County (5.17%), and Pima County (3.83%).
