According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 218,899 people in Delaware who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 22.11% of the total population of Delaware. New Castle County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (146,544), followed by Kent County (46,998), and Sussex County (25,357). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Sussex County (25,357), Kent County (46,998), and New Castle County (146,544).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Kent County had the highest percentage, with 25.84% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by New Castle County (25.68%), and Sussex County (10.68%).
