Hawaii Black or African American Alone Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 23,417 people in Hawaii who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 1.61% of the total population of Hawaii. Honolulu County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (20,723), followed by Hawaii County (1,251), and Maui County (1,065). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Kalawao County (2), Kauai County (376), and Maui County (1,065).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Kalawao County had the highest percentage, with 2.44% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Honolulu County (2.04%), and Maui County (0.65%).
