Minnesota Black or African American Alone Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 398,434 people in Minnesota who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 6.98% of the total population of Minnesota. Hennepin County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (171,511), followed by Ramsey County (71,390), and Dakota County (32,740). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Kittson County (3), Mahnomen County (8), and Lincoln County (10).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Hennepin County had the highest percentage, with 13.38% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Ramsey County (12.93%), and Stearns County (8.41%).
