Montana Black or African American Alone Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 5,484 people in Montana who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 0.51% of the total population of Montana. Yellowstone County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (1,309), followed by Cascade County (1,196), and Missoula County (752). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Petroleum County (0), Granite County (0), and Garfield County (0).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Cascade County had the highest percentage, with 1.42% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Golden Valley County (1.22%), and Powell County (0.97%).
