According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 96,535 people in Nebraska who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 4.92% of the total population of Nebraska. Douglas County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (64,721), followed by Lancaster County (13,759), and Sarpy County (7,459). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Wheeler County (0), Thomas County (0), and Sioux County (0).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Douglas County had the highest percentage, with 11.07% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Dakota County (7.47%), and Johnson County (5.96%).
