According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 16,296,122 people in California who identified their race as White Alone, which is 41.22% of the total population of California. Los Angeles County had the highest number of people who identify as White Alone (3,259,427), followed by San Diego County (1,633,129), and Orange County (1,383,257). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as White Alone were: Alpine County (814), Sierra County (2,703), and Modoc County (6,772).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Plumas County had the highest percentage, with 83.92% of its population identifying their race as White Alone, followed by Nevada County (83.73%), and Sierra County (83.53%).
