According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 1,237,041 people in Maine who identified their race as White Alone, which is 90.80% of the total population of Maine. Cumberland County had the highest number of people who identify as White Alone (264,408), followed by York County (195,326), and Penobscot County (139,311). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as White Alone were: Piscataquis County (15,572), Franklin County (27,356), and Washington County (27,789).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Lincoln County had the highest percentage, with 94.26% of its population identifying their race as White Alone, followed by Waldo County (93.66%), and Somerset County (93.48%).
