South Dakota White Alone Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 715,336 people in South Dakota who identified their race as White Alone, which is 80.68% of the total population of South Dakota. Minnehaha County had the highest number of people who identify as White Alone (158,352), followed by Pennington County (84,558), and Lincoln County (58,994). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as White Alone were: Buffalo County (286), Ziebach County (407), and Oglala Lakota County (446).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Hanson County had the highest percentage, with 96.22% of its population identifying their race as White Alone, followed by Kingsbury County (95.70%), and Hand County (95.58%).
