According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 577,751 people in Vermont who identified their race as White Alone, which is 89.84% of the total population of Vermont. Chittenden County had the highest number of people who identify as White Alone (144,237), followed by Rutland County (55,453), and Washington County (54,149). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as White Alone were: Essex County (5,566), Grand Isle County (6,724), and Lamoille County (23,778).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Essex County had the highest percentage, with 94.02% of its population identifying their race as White Alone, followed by Orleans County (92.96%), and Grand Isle County (92.20%).
