According to the data from the United States 2020 decennial Census for Indiana counties, in April 2020, among all of Indiana's cities and places (towns and villages) with a population of at least 10K, Gary city had the highest percentage of its population that identified their race as Black or African American Alone (80.25%), followed by Merrillville town (51.15%), and East Chicago city (41.10%).
