According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, among Newton County, MS voting-age population of 16,144 people, 62.98% of them (10,167 people) identified their race as White Alone, 29.73% of them (4,800 people) identified their race as Black or African American Alone, and 4.31% of them (696 people) identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone.
