Tennessee Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Tennessee voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 817,496 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 15.18% of the total voting-age population of Tennessee.

Shelby County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (353,883), followed by Davidson County (130,971), and Hamilton County (48,376).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Pickett County (8), Scott County (16), and Fentress County (16).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Shelby County had the highest percentage, with 50.12% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Haywood County (49.61%), and Hardeman County (38.70%).
