According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2013, the death rate for Montana was 9.36. Prairie County had the highest death rate (19.1), followed by Sheridan County (16.17), and Golden Valley County (15.54). On the other hand, Gallatin County had the lowest death rate (5.73), followed by Carter County (6.93), and McCone County (7.03).
